I Have a Blog!

Hey Everyone,

Welcome to my abroad blog! I'm still sitting in my room at Colby, which obviously doesn't count as abroad, but I'll be in Mexico so soon that I figure I'd better get this set up now before I forget. This will be the place where I can let everyone know what I'm doing in Baja, Mexico for the next semester, even with limited time on the computer.

For those of you who don't know, I leave February 1st for a semester in Puerto San Carlos, Mexico, on the Pacific coast of Baja California. I'm going with the School for Field Studies, and will be studying marine mammal and coastal ecosystem conservation. (More info and pictures of the site here: http://www.fieldstudies.org/pages/4254_mexico_semester.cfm)

I'm going to try to post once a week, and will hopefully either post photos (lots of them, probably with a new camera!) or a link to photos on Picasa or something.

I'll try to send and reply to e-mails, but commenting on the blog is a sure way that I'll see things :-)

Oh! I also am kind of a huge fan of snail mail: So SEND IT! But no packages please, just letters, 'cause apparently Mexican customs is tough on packages...
Send things to:

Me :-)
Center for Coastal Studies/AP 15
Puerto San Carlos, BCS
CP 23740 MEXICO

Thanks!
~Emma

  1. Hi People who want to comment!

I've heard from a lot of you that the whole commenting thing is kind of confusing, so I changed the settings to make it easier. Now you can just go into the "comment as" dropdown menu and choose "Name/URL." It will prompt you from your name and URL--just type in your name as you want it to display in the comments section. You can leave the URL blank, or put something in, it really doesn't matter.

Choosing "anonymous" also works, then just sign your name at the bottom of the comment. Then write and submit your comment!

Click "post comment" and then type in the verification code it shows you in a window that pops up.

Thank you so much for reading and commenting :-)

  2. Never mind, there's no verification code. Just type and comment!

(See, you can post as anonymous too. Now none of you know who I am... hehehe!)
